      Where are DOMINATE products made?

All of our products are made in Auckland, New Zealand. We have our own on-site factory as well as laboratory, which means we control every step of the manufacturing process to ensure that the final DOMINATE products meet our high standards.

What are the ingredients in DOMINATE products?

You can find the ingredients listed on each individual DOMINATE product page.

For a summary on all the key ingredients we've added to our products, we've got a useful infographic here.

Do you test your products on animals?

We are proud to be 100% cruelty-free. None of our raw ingredients or final products are tested on animals - this is something we won't compromise on.

You can read more about our values here.

Are Dominate products suitable for vegans?

Yes! All of our products are vegan-friendly. Our previous formulas for some DOMINATE products included beeswax, however, we have since then found vegan-friendly alternatives that work just as well, if not better, to deliver hairstyles that last the day.

      Is DOMINATE's packaging recyclable?

Yes, you can put all the packaging components of your clean and empty DOMINATE products in your household recycling bin.

The lids are made from aluminium and the fully recyclable High Density Poly Ethylene (HDPE) plastic pots contain 10% recycled HDPE material - perfect for recycling again.

Of course, you can always upcycle before you recycle. Clean DOMINATE pots are very handy to hold small bits - nails, screws, spare buttons, etc.

DOMINATE is free from parabens – what are they?

Parabens are widely used as preservatives in personal care products. They can be absorbed through your skin and cause harm to your body and the environment through wastewater.

You won't find any parabens in our products. Read more about our other values here.

      How do I patch-test a product?

If you have never used DOMINATE before or have sensitive skin, we highly recommend you patch-test our products first.

To patch-test, all you have to do is apply a small amount onto clean skin behind your ear. Wait 24 hours and observe if there is any itchiness, redness or irritation. If there is, do not continue to use DOMINATE and consult a medical professional.

If you experience no symptoms, head to our styling guide to learn how to use DOMINATE to achieve your perfect hairstyle.

What should I do if I experience irritation while using DOMINATE hair products?

While we've formulated DOMINATE to be gentle and help with a range of hair and scalp issues, we understand that everyone has different skin types and may react differently to our products.

If you experience a reaction to our products during use, we recommend you discontinue use immediately, wash the product out of your hair with a gentle shampoo and consult a medical professional. You can also get in touch with us and we'll help you out.
